    The 2004 HSC - English Paper 1

Well, since it's almost three years old that's understandable. The past papers should be on the BOS website.

Post your Semester 2 (2007) timetable

Re: Post your Semester 2 timetable Judging from here the green is something to do with film viewings in the first two weeks. It says 'ignored', though, whatever that means.

Post your Semester 2 (2007) timetable

Re: Post your Semester 2 timetable The clashy timeslot will be coloured red and there'll be a big notice at the bottom of the timetable saying "You have a CLASH". It's hard to miss.

    Subject Reviews (with PDF compilation)

Re: Subject Reviews - UPDATED WITH .PDF on first post HSTY1022 Europe in the High Middle Ages Lecturer: Assoc. Prof. John Pryor NB: This was the last time this course ran – John is leaving the History department to concentrate on the Centre for Medieval Studies – but I’ll review it anyway...

    Torchwood (Australian airing)

Did you ever get the impression that they might be in Cardiff? I don't know, I think they might have needed a few more gratuitous aerial shots just to make sure we realised. I thought that was reasonably good. Really didn't need to see the sleazy guy from Bleak House kissing anyone, though.

Post your Semester 2 (2007) timetable

Re: Post your Semester 2 timetable Here's what I've got so far. I'm sort of OK with it, although I'd like to tweak Tuesday a bit.

    Semester I Chatter Thread (2007)

Re: Semester I 2007 - Chatter Thread! Students removed in uni fee protest I'm sure that the Senate will relent now that the SRC have made their views clear like that. What group of decision-makers doesn't like to be publicly seen to have been cowed by loudmouthed protesters?

Post your Semester 2 (2007) timetable

Re: Post your Semester 2 timetable Ugh, I hate the timetable system. Why is it moving tutes I block off to an entirely different day instead of moving them to a tute with several vacancies one hour earlier? Gah, it's so frustrating.

Post your Semester 2 (2007) timetable

Re: Post your Semester 2 timetable :( I live in the middle of nowhere. If I finish at 5 I won't get home until 7. I can cope with 5pm, but I'd prefer to finish earlier.

Post your Semester 2 (2007) timetable

Timetables now available through MyUni. Procrastinate with me and post them! Here's my original, unpleasant (finishing at 5pm? Coming in on Thursdays for a tute? Seriously, it ain't happening) one: Will post again once I've made it nicer.

    Merits of Melbourne Uni

The primary reason for there not being much on Vic unis around here is that this started as, and is still mainly, a NSW site. They only opened the Victoria section last year iirc, so most of the university content focuses on NSW unis. I have no idea what Melbourne's like relative to Sydney et...

2007 Federal Election - Coalition or Labor/Howard or Rudd?

Tomorrow's ACNeilsen in the Fairfax papers has it 57-43, from 58-42 last poll. So not really a statistically significant shift. Primaries are stable, apparently.

    Refrencing Wiki

I found that in high school my teachers didn't really mind us using WP, except arguably towards the end of the HSC course in Modern, when they encouraged us to do proper research. I'd never even think of referencing it at uni, though.

Official Semester 1 (2007) Exams Thread

Re: Official Semester 1 Exams Thread Woo, pretty much finished my exam, just need to do a bit of editing. My Islam and heresy sections are pretty bad, but what the hell. If he's asking for reference to four specific individuals in 500 words he can't be expecting detail.

    BA ( Psychology)

That's about it, yeah. You don't need the extra unit to go on to honours, which is the next step towards becoming a qualified psychologist, so in career terms there probably isn't too much difference between the two. As to advantageous or disadvantageous, no idea. Don't know much about Psych...

What is everyones thoughts on the ADF's sponsored undergraduate scheme?

(Don't tell the Sydney Uni SRC that you're thinking about it. They'll come to your house at night and beat you with sticks. They think the scheme is 'dis-GUST-ing'.)

Official Semester 1 (2007) Exams Thread

Re: Official Semester 1 Exams Thread It's an Arts unit. It's not just about reciting facts from a textbook, it's about coming up with an argument based on a lot of diverse material. Example question from mine (which I'm not answering): 'Discuss either the Reconquista in Spain or the career of...

    International Studies Q.

Bear in mind that you don't need to be doing an International Studies degree to study international relations. At most unis it's available as a major in Arts and/or Commerce degrees.
