    Offer non-believers ethics, schools told

You can't say you didn't have that one coming! hrmm... shouldn't you be studying or something? ;) Back on topic... it seems some people are concerned 'ethics' classes are simply a poorly disguised attempt to teach students who don't attend scripture classes Christian values (the insult...

    Offer non-believers ethics, schools told

    1. Perhaps I didn't make myself clear enough. No, I wasn't saying that, nor meaning to imply that. 2. Feel better? :) 3. You never said that children didn't have rights, and it probably shouldn't matter to anyone else the way parents raise their kids. Well, it shouldn't, but it does matter...

    Offer non-believers ethics, schools told

    1) Okay. But what if some parents neglect to teach their children values? Or teach them warped values that aren't acceptable in mainstream society? (i.e. it's okay to lie, cheat, steal, murder, if it makes things work for you) There are some parents out there who aren't a good influence on their...

    Offer non-believers ethics, schools told

I understand you're saying that people (or at least parents) should have a choice of what their children are taught. So what values do you propose 'impressionable' school children be taught? IMO, a lack of ethics/scripture teaching will only broaden the gap between children who've been taught...

    Math enthusist?

i admire those who are really good at maths. i could never get my head around calculus and algebra  so i spent most of my time drawing in the margins! i did enjoy spatial maths though... at one point i wanted to be an architect :)

    Going on Exchange to Israel

http://www.smarttraveller.gov.au/zw-cgi/view/Advice/Israel_Gaza_Strip_and_West_Bank It's up to you to decide if it's worth the risk. Personally, i wouldn't go anytime soon. If you do decide to go, do some research first so you are at least aware of what you can/can't get away with.

    what are you over??

As an artist, i'm really over commercial spattered paint jeans... and printed-on scribble. There's something about mass-produced scribble - i find it looks cheap, uncreative and impersonal. If you're into the paint and scribble look, DIY. Just get some old jeans or whatever, paint and a broad...

    Incomplete grade?

I got my results back today, one HD, two D's and an IC! Don't understand how this could have came about. Unless it was a clerical error, either that or one of my group members didn't hand in our major assignment like they said they would... or the assignment had an error that made it...

    Tafe and Uni

i'm guessing that would be optical dispensing Cert IV? you could certainly give it a shot! :) i did (or rather, am doing) business advertising to broaden my options as well. i didn't think just a BA in viscomm would be competitive enough. ^_^ go for it, if that's what you want - just...

    Tafe and Uni

i am. it's quite possible, but pretty hard to get motivated for the distant education, as i work on that during mid-semester/mid-year breaks (after a busy semester, when the last thing i feel like doing is more study...) what courses are you looking at doing? *edit* mind, the workload at...

    Your Plans for the Future?

my plan, God-willing i live long enough, is to: *finish degree and cert IV before end 2007. *volunteer overseas for a year or less (if the right position comes up) *work in either the media/publishing dept. of my church; or at an advertising/graphic design agency for approx. 3-5 years, and...

Politics goes to church at Hillsong

giving 10% of earnings to the church is a Biblical principle - it's called tithe. Tithe is simply used to support the ministries of the church - it is not a means of gaining salvation. Hillsong don't preach that giving money will get you into heaven. They do, however, insistently appeal to...

Politics goes to church at Hillsong

yeah, quite a few hillsong members are genuinely nice, decent people. however, i find it irritating that politicians pay attention to this particular bunch just because of their wealth, success and the huge influence of their leader (Houston). i suppose they're expecting a 'blessing' at...
