    Best tutoring colleges

It isn't disallowed - as long as it is the student who asks for it, that any student who wants to join in is allowed and the teachers aren't getting paid for it and it is during school hours. For example, some of the teachers at my school hold extra lessons for General Mathematics students who...

    business studies help

A GBE is a Government Business Enterprise (for example Australia Post). Within this - the legal structure will change from a GBE to most likely a Public Company. This is because the government will offer shares to the public, therefore the public will be able to become shareholders and hold part...

    Truongs Maths Tutoring, any comments?

Re: Truong's tutoring, any comments? Firstly, you shouldn't be intimidated of sir. He's a very nice person and is usually very soft on you if you're new. Also he still is accepting Year 11s (he's accepting 5 new people next week - from what I've heard), but the waiting list is long.

Dropping HSC Biology down to 10 units. Every advice/feedback appreciated!

Before the start of this term, I would've have said drop. However after being 'advised' by my school and asking for the advice of some of my role models - it's best not to, especially if you're doing 4U maths. My advice - stick with bio, at least until your half yearlies. If you do well, keep...

Ours is made by CCC (Canterbury). They're limited on designs though - I think.

    Band 6 Business/Design Students?

Most people on this thread are currently sitting the HSC. But there would be a lot of people with Band 6s in Business, because it's a relatively easy subject.

Free HSC Half Yearly Exam Workshops

Yeah, like he was telling us jokes about Valentines Day and how we were supposed to marry a rich spouse. Then when I asked him if he'd take a hot spouse over a rich one - he didn't reply. He was also pretty critical and judgmental - he said nobody was able to solve the questions and was...

    free laptops?

I don't get a free laptop - but from what I read the Public School one's are going to be like those shithouse Asus Eeepcs. Also they'll have a lot of restrictions (inc. inbuilt webfiltering and access). At my school, students who entered the College in Year 9 get a laptop and this has been...

    Should i start reading novelz?

You should start reading some novels, as they will be highly beneficial to you in English - being able to use them as supplementary texts in English for the Area of Study. Or you could just see what novels your school's using and read them before you're studying them so you can develop a...

    Who hates group work?

Groupwork depends on your ability in the subject. For example, I had a business groupwork assignment and I hated it and it costed me full marks because I lost 1 mark because my fellow member wasn't a strong public speaker. However in Software, since I'm not very good at coding and my partner...

    Truongs Maths Tutoring, any comments?

Re: Truong's tutoring, any comments? I know I've been posting on this thread for quite a bit, but there are just some points which I want to respond to. A lot of people, not just you, complain on how tutors force you to do their homework and not school work. That's a complete lie. Tutoring is...

    Tutoring little siblings

You could do that :p But in all seriousness, you shouldn't do something for your family and expect something in return. After I finish my HSC, I'll gladly tutor my sister and any member of my family for free.

Yeah, and also from my observations - the notes were just a summary of information from the 'Excel' study guides (well for physics anyway).

    Moving from General to 2U

Yeah that is true. If you go to a public school (most likely you would) then you should have no problems but I encourage you to do so now. If you go to a private/catholic school like myself, then well, good luck.

Free HSC Half Yearly Exam Workshops

QFT. They advertise that they will cover the whole first two topics - however they didn't. They only barely touched on a few areas. Most of the time was spent having the lecturer criticising our current techniques in solving a problem and trying to tell us to use his techniques. Also, the...

HSC in SOR and SOR II

Nope. Studies of Religion is divided in the same way that Maths and English is. SORII is just an extension of SORI - it's the same except you learn 2 more topics. Therefore you can't - either you do 1u or 2u religion.

    Moving from General to 2U

You would have no problems in coping with the actual course. However, the only problem you may have is actually getting into the 2U course. Most schools have a 'grace' period where you can change subject/levels. I know at my school it's the first two weeks.

    Truongs Maths Tutoring, any comments?

Re: Truong's tutoring, any comments? Yeah this is true. Sir only teaches MX1 and MX2. However most of his students from Years 7-10 develop mathematical skills which allow them to be capable of at least MX1. I remember in Year 9 I thought I was going to do 2U mathematics, now I'm doing 4u...

    Truongs Maths Tutoring, any comments?

Re: Fairfield Troung's recommendation - English It really depends on your definition of being a 'nice' teacher. In my opinion, Sir is a pretty nice teacher. I am not one of his brightest students, but he still treats me well because he knows that I try. He often asks me 'if I have a problem'...
