    Study Discussion

Re: Typed or Written Study notes? I think it depends on the way you write. I can write pretty fast and my handwriting is relatively neat (I've been told i write like a girl) - so i write my notes. I think the more you write the better practice you'll get for the HSC. But if you have bad...

All my own work- HSC was there a point for that?

HAHA, you get this every year. To most people, no - all my own work is a waste of time. Most students are burnt out by the time the SC is over and nobody really pays attention. But the Board of Studies has to do something like this otherwise they'd be heavily criticised.

I can actually see why I didn't get it - my accelerated mark wasn't high enough and I know that's the reason why. Because 2U maths isn't considered as a 'difficult' subject and therefore I would predict that BOS would expect 95+ from 2U, and a Band E3 in Extension 1 didn't help either. But yeah...

LOL thank you for giving me the title of 'awesome' :p Anyway back to the point, we can easily change it - doesn't have to be Parramatta. I mean we've got the whole of Sydney to work with... so we could adjust the location. LOL that's not very nice Jeffrey. I think procrastination is a girl...

Re: Is it really so bad to study from study guides? I'm usually against the use of Study Guides - but I gotta admit - they've saved my ass so many times. So basically - if you've got plenty of time before an exam - then yes it is bad to use study guides. If you've got less than 2 weeks...

Acceleration was always an option for people at my school - that's probably why we didn't do too well overall. At my school - we always accelerate the top maths class from Year 9 onwards - therefore for us - it's just normal - therefore people put in less effort generally overall - I know that...

Thank you. Yeah - that's what I was told as well. However I remember one of the lecturers stating that the Board was cutting positions this year. Again thanks and I hope you enjoy Philosophy/Cosmology (not sure which one you got into).

Same here. Although keep in mind - those are past Jr and Catholic papers. But yeah - I definately need some motivation and maybe a new environment to study in.

Thanks for the kind words. Yeah - I think my HSC mark was my main factor - because I only JUST scraped in a Band 6. Also my school did not perform well this year - so I think that's another factor. But yeah - I'm looking forward and I actually feel motivated to work harder in all my subjects...

    2009ers: Year 12 Jerseys

LOL vonny sounds gay :p Just put Yvonne then. But like, at least you got 6 letters to work with - I feel sorry for Bo :p Anyway back on topic - at my school we're allowed to put random comments on the back of our jerseys so I'm thinking of putting 'Shifty_Asian', '13yearswasted', 'Cwacciee...

I'm up for that study group at Parra - I'm there almost every saturday anyway as DJ said with addidasboy. Also myself and MrRandom are thinking of forming a study group in the South West, maybe in the Fairfield/Cabramatta area. Hoping we can find some strong english students (because we're...

    Induction.

I just use the same conclusion for all types - it's really brief, but my teacher said it should suffice: 'Since the statement is true for n = k+1 and n=1, then it is true for n = 1+1 = 2, n = 2+1 = 3 ... and so on for all positive integer values of n.' Just adjust it slightly for the...

Hmm I guess I'm the first one to admit I didn't get in. Had a really werid relationship with BOS though. 1st day - got an accidental call - then got told they hadn't actually finished considering my application yet. 2nd day - all the other applicants from my school got their outcomes back so I...

    2008 HSC School Rankings

Re: Top 200 Schools - Daily Telegraph Nah it was just a bad year for us. We've been in the Top 200 every year - this is the first year we haven't gotten in. 2007: 126 2008: unknown. I can't believe my school dropped more than 74 places. ><" Ah well, Patrician Brothers' College Class of...

Yeah I agree with you there Roger. I'm pretty sure you guys had Heinemann when you were at Pats for SDD and that was really really dry. Was Excel enough for SDD? Because I seriously hate Heinemann SDD.
