    Excel Guides

I think they would. I know my old version of Excel Physics does - so they'd most likely include it in the new edition. But personally - I wouldn't use Excel. I'd use my text book and do practice questions from Past Trial and HSC papers - especially with Maths.

    2009ers: Year 12 Jerseys

Wow all these people who have gotten their jersey's already! My school hasn't even mentioned Jerseys yet. :(

    Changing Schools Mid Year?

I'm pretty sure they will just assess you on all the assessments you've done at the new school and they'll just convert it to a mark out of 100 or 50 - depending on the course - that's what they did at my school with the accelerants when we missed out on the first HSC Assessment. But seriously...

    Distinction Course Discussion

Exactly - Namu I think you've got the best chance of getting in. Anyway - reading the forms - they said 17th and 18th - which to me seems the most logical. I'm scared about my accelerated mark - cause that's what's gonna really determine if I get in or not.

    resitting prelims

It depends imo. If you believe you will be able to change your study patterns and do well in Year 12 - I wouldn't sit the prelims again - because you've wasted a year or so. However - if you think you might stuff up Year 12 - then I'd consider resitting the prelims. Because with some subjects...

Do you write notes? (poll included)

Yeah I think questions for maths is a good idea. Usually when I find a 'unique' maths question - I try and memorise it and the methods which were needed to solve it.

    Annual Award Ceremony

Thank you - finally someone is making some sense here. All I intended was to make a lighthearted comment and I'm pretty sure that's the same with Youngminii. I think you're making perfect sense.

    Annual Award Ceremony

I'm not trying to swing your opinion. If you want to continue believing that I am dissatisfied with my award - continue to do so. But I never said that my award wasn't good enough - you just implied it - and I'm certainly not going to tear it up - because I don't have a problem with it. I'm...

Nope. Heard from my teacher that the Board of Studies asked him to re-fax my friend's application though.

    Annual Award Ceremony

Thank you Namu. My post was intended to be jocular - however it is true - we only get a piece of paper - that is factual language. I never stated that I disliked the award, that I expected anything better. Also I never degraded Business Studies in anyway - I treat it as a real subject and...

What is everyone doing in the holidays?

It could be. Depends who I go to the movies with :p But yeah - there are a few movies I'd like to go see during the holidays.

What is everyone doing in the holidays?

I totally agree with you there Julie. I'm going to do a bit of study - mainly just write up some study notes and go over some Maths. I also want to get as much sport in as possible as well as go out and relax a bit - watch a movie, stuff like that.

    Best book for 3/4u Maths?

3U - Fitzpatrick 4U - Fitzpatrick supplemented with Terry Lee. However I think the best thing you can use is those HSC questions by topics books.

    Lost yr 11 report

Yeah schools will not ever reprint reports. I know it's hard to tell - but I was being sarcastic. But seriously - who gives a shit about prelim. If I were an employer - I'd ask for HSC. That's it. I wouldn't even ask you for that if you were university educated.

    Bad Teachers

Teachers play a role - but it's not as significant as some may think. Really - I think you can self study easily - especially with subjects like Business Studies, Religion and all those theory based subjects. Teachers are important for subjects like English and Maths though.

Future Plans: What ATAR/course/job are you aiming for?

Re: Future Plans: What UAI/course/job are you aiming for? I think he means 80.xx. But yeah - teaching at ACU shouldn't be that hard to get in - especially if you currently go to a systemic catholic school - think they have scholarship programs specifically for students in the Catholic System.

what TYPE of school do u go to?

Re: Public School vs. Private It depends on the ranking of your school. Some public schools are pretty good - but then again some are really bad. That's the same with private schools - you have private schools in the Top 200 and you have some ranking in the 500s, 600s and 700s - so it really...

    Help with Complex Numbers

Thanks heaps youngminii and azureus88! I think I'll be using youngminii's solutions for the first question - because I also don't think you're allowed to assume that the statement is true. Again thanks heaps guys.
