    Annual Award Ceremony

We have a Concert and Prizegiving Night - you get an award for coming first in a subject. No money - no trophies. I'm getting a piece of paper this year cause I came first in Business Studies.

James Ruse are cheaters and the BOS do not care.

Seriously - I don't think JR are cheaters. They may excessively accelerate - but that is there problem. They have many capable students who can accelerate easily (I found out at the distinction course briefing day) then of course they'll do well.

The King School Why so much

I think - if people are willing to spend that much for education - they are welcome to. But seriously - you can get similar resoruices and facilities going to a cheapy private school, or even some public schools.

what TYPE of school do u go to?

Re: Public School vs. Private That is true. My school is comprehensive - so we have both academically gifted and extremely 'academically challenged' students - so I think we do pretty well considering we have a lot of students in the bottom end.

    2009ers: Year 12 Jerseys

Cool - ours looks exactly the same as our rugby jerseys (design and material) - so we don't have much of a choice.

    General Maths or IPT?

Personally in my opinion - I'd drop general maths - because lets face it - with General you have to do really well or you will be scaled down. IPT - same thing but to a lesser extent. Therefore I think it would be more beneficial to keep IPT.

    When does your holiday start?

I think all public schools finish on the 19th. My school finished classes yesterday (6th of December) but we have our Picnic Day on Monday and English Orals on Wednesday.

    What Bugs Me!!!

I work well under pressure. But in saying that I've learnt the hard way that its not good to leave assessments to the last minute. Also to the original poster - you'll have to accept that in life there are people who are naturally smart and can wing anything, and those who have to work...

    2009ers: Year 12 Jerseys

I thought Blacktown would be like us (Fairfield Pats) and use a more Rugby style design. Ours is a two-blue striped rugby jersey. We probably won't get ours until mid next year - haven't even been mentioned by the teachers.

i screwed up my first HSC asessment.. am i screwed T^T

Seriously no point worrying about it. What's done is done. My advice - just work harder to regain and push your ranking up. You should be fine if you do good in your other assessments and perform well in the Externals.

    HSC Assessment Marks/Ranks

Well Done to all. We had our assessment block in the last week of school (which was last week) so we won't get our results until next year.

    Study Discussion

Re: Study advice for the holidays! I think it is. I mean if you do some work in the holidays - you should be proficient with at least the first topic - which means you're already set for roughly 25% of your HSC. Basically - I would write notes on everything you did in Term 4 and make sure...

    The Cambridge Book

True - I've been doing questions from Fitzy and Cambride in class and at home I've been doing past CSSA and HSC Questions - they are pretty different. That's why I'm trying to do as much past paper questions as possible.

What happens to ur 2 unit mark when u do ext 2?

Exactly. Seriously if you are doing good in 3U and 4U - who gives a shit about your 2U mark. But in saying that - it's pretty weird if you can rip 3U and 4u and not be able to rip 2U.

    Help with Complex Numbers

Hi guys, I think this is the first time I've actually posted for help with a maths problem - but I can't seem to see this question - stupid vectors (and they're probably easy to most people) Anyway, 1. Prove that three points z1, z2 and z3 are collinear if only the ratio (z3 - z1) / (z2...
