    Worth going to schoolies?

I wouldn't advise you to go to schoolies because of the large emphasis on alcohol and drugs. I wouldn't go because I don't drink or do drugs but even the presence of drugs should be a big no for everyone, but that's just my opinion I guess.

    Mathematics Extension 1 Exam Predictions/Thoughts

Yeah to even out ties iirc. Like if 3 people tie on 100 RAW but one of them got 99 in 4u and the others got like 95, then the person who got 99 in 4u will get the higher rank.

    Mathematics Extension 1 Exam Predictions/Thoughts

That's about a borderline E4 however since aligning varies year to year it might just be E4 or might just not be E4, but still very close.

    Mathematics Extension 1 Exam Predictions/Thoughts

Like for e.g.14c(i) is quite trivial. Then for 14c(ii) you just draw a right angled triangle with (x_0 - alpha) as one of the angles using \cos(x_0 - \alpha) = \dfrac{\cos(x_0)}{1} \text{Which gives you} \sin(x_0-\alpha) = \big|\sin(x_0)\big| Then just argue about which case to take...

    Mathematics Extension 1 Exam Predictions/Thoughts

I'm pretty sure they get counted as an outlier so no NESA won't count their mark iirc. As for the paper. Question 14c seems a bit too easy? I got it out in about 2-3 minutes. Is that the general consensus?

I am quite excited to see this years paper!

(Circ Motion) Why does using a vector diagram and the centripetal acceleration formula give different values?

I think it might be because your doing the operations incorrectly. For example you can't just add or subtract two vectors the same way as numbers like 2+3. You need to consider what direction they're pointing and work out the resultant vectors magnitude appropriately using Pythagorus and what...

    Mathematics Extension 1 Exam Predictions/Thoughts

When I did the binomial question (2018 hsc) I got it out by firstly writing out what term each coefficient is representing. Like for example every second term was of the form {something}\choose{r} which kind of screams out coefficient of x^r and after writing out a few it becomes obvious. I...

Can confirm I did not struggle with this. Took me about 10 seconds.

Equation of tangent derivation in parametrics

When I sat it I just wrote down the equation. You are allowed to unless they tell you to derive it as far as I know.

Using MX2 skills in Physics exam?

Yeah well it's not in the pool of being Prestigious. Like for e.g. Usyd and Unsw Law school is ranked top 20 in the world... Yeah his undergrad uni didn't make the rankings but I mean the dudes a grad student now so he's set!

Using MX2 skills in Physics exam?

Na screw masters haha. I would rather get First Class Honours so I can skip straight into a PhD. That is IF I do a PhD because I'm learning Physics just because I love it. In terms of career prospects in Aus, there ain't many.. Also when I said both are trash I mean't they're both ranked 80+ as...

Using MX2 skills in Physics exam?

I mean it may be a small bit better, but that really shouldn't influence you because Internationally the difference is small so no one cares, especially when both are equally bad. Like if you compared an MIT grad to a grad from a school ranked 2nd then yeah people would care because it's MIT the...

Using MX2 skills in Physics exam?

Overall they are ranked really well, but if you look at Physics specifically they are both trash, and I mean that's expected because all the top Physics research you hear about is always from the US. However I will say Unsw ranks much higher than Usyd for Maths. It does correlate towards STEM...

Using MX2 skills in Physics exam?

It's usyd and unsw. It's not MIT vs Western Sydney Uni haha. Really if you look at it both are equally shit for Physics in terms of ranking. Going to Usyd over Unsw or Unsw over Usyd has no boost in value in terms of 'prestige'.

Using MX2 skills in Physics exam?

UNSW!! =( For real if you wanna go to USYD Physics just remember everyone complains about their outdated equipment, it convinced me to cancel my usyd offer and go unsw.

Using MX2 skills in Physics exam?

GR is done usually in your final year of Undergrad Physics. I'm pretty sure it's not actually a 'core' course at usyd and unsw, but it's offered. Probably because it's very specific and most Physics majors don't really need it. Yup tensor calc is undergrad, I'm pretty sure it gets taught with GR...

Using MX2 skills in Physics exam?

I used to think I was the only one who watches them. In Uni everyone in Physics knows them. I literally made friends by discussing these guys lol. I haven't actually done Real Analysis so yeah most likely it's harder. I like Complex Analysis because you delve deep into proofs using Complex...

Using MX2 skills in Physics exam?

Calm down there, General relativity is 4th year uni Physics :P Love the enthusiasm though. You should watch a youtuber called Andrew Doston, he does awesome videos on this kind of stuff. I'm actually learning Complex Analysis and Multivariable Calculus this term and boy are they hard but fun...
