    medical science vs. commerce

Chances are, if you don't find the course you're doing interesting or motivating, you'll either fail and drop out, or press on and eventually graduate with a mediocre GPA, only to find yourself competing against the next guy/girl who graduated with his/her degree with distinction average for the...

    Lateness to lectures, HELP

speaking from experience, walking into a lecture late is fine, so long as you find a seat in a swift and quiet manner. it might also be worth noting that some lecturers also go up in arms about OH&S and forbid you from sitting in the stair aisles so finding an actual seat to sit on is paramount...

sleep early, wake up early and cram early in the morning right up to the minute before walking into the exam venue. i usually have my study notes on loose leaf paper to make for easy disposal as i'm walking in.

    books, folders, paper?

i usually just print off the lecture notes before hand and add in extra notes next to each powerpoint slide where i feel is necessary during the lecture. then in my own time i use the lecture notes in conjunction with a text book and write out a summary of the content.

    Neurones...

I'll try to break down the key concepts that you should become familiar with... Resting membrane potential of neuron (neural cell) - this when the neuron is in its "steady" state, no stimulus has activated it therefore there's no net movement of Na+ or K+ ions into or out of the neuron. If we...

    Rounding off

QFT. If you go on to do chem subjects at uni, they're really pedantic about sig figs, and this is the method that they drill into our heads.

    Action potential

This reply may come a bit too late...but I'll give you a bit of an overview anyway. Basically, once an action potential has been triggered (once a stimulus causes the neuron to reach threshold potential of -55mV), all of the sodium ion channels on the neuron open, causing an influx of Na+ ions...

Okay. Am I wrong to ditch college for money.

Jesus was a carpenter...which I guess is a field related to the flooring company . I'd go with the moneys at your dad's business and avoid racking up a HECS debt in the later years.

    what to wear?

I had a feeling you'd mention the engineering faculty...they come across as a really laid back faculty, or so i'm lead to believe by my mates who do engineering and spend a pretty generous amount of their time at the uni bar and playing COD4 in the library.

    FAQ: Early Entry

Whether you get in or not shouldn't make a difference in the time it takes them to send out early entry offers as they'll send out letters informing people whether they got guaranteed or conditional early entry at the same time. Also, I remember getting my early entry offer letters 2 or 3 days...

    what to wear?

So very true. On a side note, some people just wear their school uniform, so I guess if you're still undecided, and feeling square, that'd be the way to go.

    help with Early Entry interview

Well if you want to use the early entry avenue as a safety net, then I would demonstrate interest in doing the politics major. Atleast then if for some reason you dont get into psychology, you're guaranteed a spot in politics and you can just transfer next year. By telling the interviewers that...

    help with Early Entry interview

Early entry offers aren't binding, so if you do get an offer for early entry you're not obliged to take it. So if you get an early entry offer for B Arts (Politics), but put your first UAC preference as B Arts (Psychology), provided that your UAI is above the cut-off, you'll get a UAC offer for...
