    ECMT lecture notes on net

Here are my notes from when I did ECMT 1010 in 2003. The content may have changed, and i'm sure i've got some things wrong, like the graphs and stuff. And the notes may or may not be complete, I probably stopped paying attention halfway through the semester. ECMT seems so far away when...

What are Lectures, Tutorials and Workshops?

If there are tutes and workshops before the lectures, they could be for the lecture the week before. Tutes and workshops are to reinforce the material learnt in lectures, and it's pretty hard to do that when you haven't learnt anything yet.

    Anyone Get In?

Anthropology is a great subject, the faculty's really nice and they get actual faculty lecturers to take the tutes instead of Joe Bloggs grad student off the streets. Only thing is, most of the lecturers don't use overheads and don't have lecture notes so you have to pay close attention during...

    double degrees at two uni's...

I've never read anything about doing two degrees at different unis, I think usyd would recommend against it if you're doing two full time loads, but there's probably nothing thye can do to stop you from enrolling in another uni if you can manage the load and come to all the classes.

    1st year subjects

It's highly unlikely you'd go from graduate to CEO of a company, but it is possible to graduate and become a manager of a retail store and then work your way up. People might be interested in studying management because 1. It's broad. You can have a major in management and still work in...

    how to get to usyd

There's nothing wrong with Redfern. There's usually a Uni security patrol car at the station, to help out if anything goes wrong. Half the time there's police standing there. There's lots of other uni students going the same way so you can't get lost. After dark when there's less people there's...

    Comparing Campus and facilities

MQ is in the middle of nowhere, it's fogged up by North Shore smugness and it pales in comparison to USYD. Mind you, i've never been there so just ignore what i just said!

Welcome to Usyd Business and Economics!!!

I'm doing marketing principles too in semester 1... Gender studies: I don't see why not, you can do (at least I've managed to enrolled in) a mix of senior and junior units so I guess provided you have fulfilled the prerequisites, then you can enrol in it. Sociology sounds interesting, one of...

i need desperate help with enrolment...i'm lost

Has anyone else seen people around with proper plastic cards? I heard you had to pay $20 to get them, but they look nicer than the laminated crap, and you don't need to take a photo cos they take it for you. Not sure how you can get one without getting the laminated one first though, I think...

    enrolment help needed!!!

You can discontinue or pick up subjects between now and the census date (31st March for semester 1, 31st August for semester 2 subjects) without being charged HECS or having it recorded down on your testamur. You can drop a subject after that date, but you will fail the subject, it will appear...

    welcome to arts!!1

There aren't any lecturers, but there will be student volunteers around to answer questions, tell you where things are, provide advice and stuff. Go to the Arts transistion workshop too, it was fantastic last year. There's also a mentor program, that's like peer support for uni...

Welcome to Usyd Business and Economics!!!

suvat- you would want to take up claw1001 in semester 1 because you need to do some commercial law units to do an accounting major. Semester 2 last year most people doing your majors would have taken up ECMT1020 because that was part of the prerequisites to take up FINC and second year ACCT, but...
