genuinely what does a top 20 uni get for letting basically non dei deis get in for free?

because atar isnt a reflection of your potential. ur in this mindset that only ppl with a 90+ atar are allowed in a prestigious uni (aka u think theyre lowering the standard), there's ppl out there who could have gotten that as well but are undergoing tougher circumstances. gateway is a good way to allow equity

they are legit increasing the atar cut off by atleast 2 points. That is not a miniscule amount. To add more salt to the wound, It's unfair for everyone else when someone with gateway can get in with 70 or even a mystery atar into unsw (for unconditional). If someone achieves a mystery atar, they were genetically cooked (retarded) from the beginning and their intelligence wasn't capped just cause they lived in mount druitt.
