You mentioned people getting killed, war is the first thing I associate with death. Sorry if I misinterpreted what you said, I often have in recent times, as if to say i'm not quite switched on.

Gratz on over 4k posts as well.

I tend to think of Rudd as more of a populist, actually.
He was raised Roman Catholic and is a practicing Anglican (though I think that's more his wife's influence).

EDIT: A pretty telling comment from him in an essay he wrote in The Monthly:

A [truly] Christian perspective on contemporary policy debates may not prevail. It must nonetheless be argued. And once heard, it must be weighed, together with other arguments from different philosophical traditions, in a fully contestable secular polity. A Christian perspective, informed by a social gospel or Christian socialist tradition, should not be rejected contemptuously by secular politicians as if these views are an unwelcome intrusion into the political sphere. If the churches are barred from participating in the great debates about the values that ultimately underpin our society, our economy and our polity, then we have reached a very strange place indeed.

If axe-murderers are allowed to get married and have a child purely due to the fact they like members of the opposite sex; gay persons should be able to marry also.

I'm not saying all straight people are bad and all gay persons are good, but I think that the majority of the gay populus are entitled to commit to marriage if they truly love each other.

Ok lets be diplomatic about this, you get to call me an ultra right conservative , so long as you're a far left pinko commie, my views dont fit neatly on left right or liberal conservative lines, and I'm pretty sure yours dont either, so maybe lose the shallow labels?
Shallow labels?? It seems to me that your the one being shallow here. I meann what sort of person says the things youve said on here? I think everyone is entitled to their opinions, but what if someone you cared about was homosexual? perhaps one of your children? I bet you'd either outcast them or try and "get them help". Its not a sickness that can be fixed, and its not un-natural either, homosexuality has occurred throughout all of human (and animal) history. Its normal, weither or not homosexuality is something you are comfortable with is a different matter, and thats your problem not theirs. Your clearly a very selfish person. We all have rights.

Not really Kway. Majority rules.
Well, in that case, we should have gay marriage, a recent poll showed that SIXTY PERCENT of Australians support it.

Three in five Australians support same-sex marriage, according to a new survey, with women, young people and those on higher incomes most likely to support it.
Australian Marriage Equality

So, with regard to this issue, it's the minority imposing their views on the majority.

Battling for Christianity is difficult, if not pointless, when the other side dont even accept God. I cant only really talk to good people like Lentern tbh.

Sufficed to say that the rest of you are doomed to an eternity of torments for your arrogant sin

Also, dont reply humandic

Youre pretty unreasonable yourself, for someone who is determined to believe nothing

Not believing in God does not equate to a belief in 'nothing'...it simply represents a personal choice, just as believing in God does. Many people who aren't religious have very strong beliefs. Iron, I'm sorry, but you seem to be under the impression that everyone who doesn't agree with you isn't worth your trouble, and I pity you for that, because it means you're in for a very lonely time.
