i am not current with the state of good looking student politicians at the moment, mostly because they're all fuckwits

could one of you gents give me the low down?
They're mostly ugly.

It's a sad, sad year.
But by mostly I mean ~51%
(I don't know)

lol, random question but was anyone here aware of the zombie apocalypse that happened last month? Haven't been on BOS much, just checking if people here knew
everyone knew

Two of us spoke about it on our radio show with one of the guys part-organising it.

Worst sleep I've had in a long time. Didn't get more than ~1.5 consecutive hours.

at least you know things!

I'm hard out stressing.

I reckon I'll probably get the same mark as I would've if I didn't study at all. Lol
My studying was so ineffective. I was pretty much copying out the answers to the tutorials.

wot? Lol

(omg, that chem exam, if I pass I will be happy)
See, half the fucking exam consisted of those resonance questions we never covered.

Do you remember what you said for:

1. Lower coordination of the palladium in the PdO crystal.
2. Difficult of compressing helium.
3. Basicity of methylamine/acetonitrile.

My answers for the first two were a bit retarded. I left them until the last minute, and I ended up needing to go to the bathroom so badly I couldn't think straight.

I did the rest fine, I hope, but those three above just sucked.

I think if I only spent a quarter of the time I actually wasted on this subject, I would probably still receive the same mark considering they only tested like 30 % of the course.

yep! Those resonance things annoyed THE SHIT out of me, but they were the only past exam practice I did so I guess that's good. Hahaha

Lower coordination?! What is that? I think the PdO number thing was like 11 (or something) but I said 4 because I didn't know what it was during the exam (brain fudge).
Yeah, I didn't really know, that was annoying. I said its a noble gas made of only one shell and a small nucleus and since the nucleus and electrons have similar total charge the atoms repel each other pretty evenly and can't make a dipole moment to come together or anything.
That shit was fucked. I just guessed.

Yeah, I think I did like 50% of the paper retarded. I think I did the best on things we never really did. Lol

Yep! But that's life. Oh well. :/

Also, next to the ligand thing I wrote "I did not know how to successfully integrate paedobear into this answer" lol

OH!

What was the MO shit?!
Yeah I said four too.

The MO's... there were eight valence electrons + a very short bond length so I just put the four electrons in the four bottom bonding orbitals.

What about the last part for the boric acid question?

I had about 260 mL and 740 mL if I remember right...?

I did pH = pKa + log10(conj base/acid) and then got conj base/acid = 10^(pH-pKa)

Then I just put x/y * conj base/acid = 10^(pH -pKa) and x + y = 1L and then solved.

I just made that method up during the exam though so its probs wrong. Lol

9.24 + log(0.24 * 0.05 / 0.76 * 0.1) = 8.48

The concentrations of the solutions were different though.

Oh god damn it, I put the acid in the numerator and the base in the denominator. Hopefully they'll only deduct 0.5 considering everything else was right and it works out...

But does it?!

(also, looking at that we did the same thing…? So…?)

((except I had base on top acid on bottom)

Yeah but the base solution was 0.100 M and the acid was 0.050 M

Yeah, my answer gives 8.4977 pH which is only off because rounding error. I don't think they'll be that harsh.

Holy shit. That means I got a thing!

Holy fuck, this is looking like my best chem test yet and I knew nothing hahahaha

I just realised that's a bit very far off. But at least I sort of knew what I was doing.
