and as for Charlize Theron - i respect any actress that has the guts to go against hollywoods "ideals" and transform herself into her character (like Kidman in The Hours etc)......

and tho i haven't seen it yet - i hear her acting is top of the range - and Plus - she has Christina Ricci as co-star - and that's damn cool!

FULL MARKS HYDRA! just like kidman in the hours, theron has done it (but i reckon even better) in Monster.... Christina Ricci is brilliant as well - i saw a funny pic in a mag yesterday. it was a close-up shot of a nose (lookking up into it), and the caption was "No wonder Christina Ricci broke up with Depardiue"... hahaha.... Depardie is the massive Fench actor - you probably have all seen him - he's quite famous...

I haven't seen Butterfly effect, but can he really pull off a serious role? Everytime I look at that guy I think Dude, Where's My Car? and That 70's Show....he's a great actor, but I don't know about serious roles though.

BTW Ashton is a great name too

In regards to Ashton (yes a great name) - he was great in the butterfly effect... There was only one time in the entire movie i thought he was about to say "You just got PUNK'D - biatch!"... hahaha... But, yeah - i thought he was great in it - and the script was written really well... It really gets you thinking after the movie.. I gave it 8.5/10... And yes, he can pull off the serious role i reckon... So - go check it out... Well worth the $8.50 cheap-ass Tuesday ticket... hahaha...

i think the whole - can he play a serious role is a hard question
ppl are too influenced by his other roles ie dude wheres my car
i havent seen the movie but from what i have seen - credits and other ppl
he can play the serious role just our images of him gets in the way
it reminds me of, if any one has seen this ep, of will and grace when jack gets cast as a straight guy in a commerical and he turns it down because he didnt want every one seeing him as strainght and not being able to be cast in a gay role
