technically there is no pass and fail but the bands correspond to aligned marks

band 1 = 0-49%

band 2 = 50-59%

band 3 = 60-69%

band 4 = 70-79%

band 5 = 80-89%

band 6 = 90-100%

for band 1 it is considered that you have 'failed' to achieve key outcomes of knowledge and skill in the course

There is obviously a vast difference in the response of a band 1 to a band 6. But, I think the people with these band 1 answers had some ideas, but didn't really know how to express them ~ otherwise they could have easily scraped in band 2/3. Basically, their answers made absolutely no sense. :/

Obviously, for band 6 answers, you'd need hardcore facts and dates etc, not just general knowledge.

Thanks for that, I am a little bit amused by the band 1 responses but it is helpful so I can see how my answers compare to all the others.
