PPT wage x 2.5 x hrs worked

What state are you in? Try and find your Part time/full time wage for 17 year old in your state, then you're set

hmm doesnt seem to be working...
Im in WA and our store does not normally open on Sundays.

my normal rate is 12.5961 and on sundays i am paid 23.0929...

from the EBA i am getting a full time wage of 664.8
so then part time wage = 664.8 / 38 = 17.4947
junior rate = 17.4947 * 0.6 = 10.4968 (which when multiplied by 1.2 gives the correct casual rate so we are good there )...

but then when i multiply 10.4968 by 1.5 (sunday rate) i get 15.7453 (and multiplied by 1.2 for casual) gives 18.89 which is wrong!

HELP! i cant see whats wrong

$23 on Sundays? No way, can't be? That looks more like the 2.5x wage, you sure?
For sunday, it should be: ppt x 1.7 x hrs worked

on your payslip, see the rate next to SAL (its towards the bottom on the right hand side), its 2.7 times that rate.

I'm in WA, and my old sunday rate was around 18ish (though I get paid more coz I'm in a tourist district). So its def not 23.

Yeah, check the EBA for public holiday rates, because some states are 2.7, some are 2.5. Here in Vic, we are paid 2.5 (but we have high casual rates to start with).
Your wage sounds a little to high tbh, the Grade 2 wage for a 17 year old is 12.70 here in Vic, grade 5 even less ($11 something), so are you positive?

Yeah that sunday shift is over time (note the OT before 220), basically being paid at 220%. What's the part time wage located next to SAL as babikakez outlined earlier out of curiosity.

you may have been paid wrong there, haha. check your payslip again the next sunday you work and see if its the same.

and casuals can get overtime, if their shifts go over a certain amount of hours or if they work over 38 hours (though some stores still wont pay this - ie mine)

fair enough then, as your store isn't in tourist precinct that may very well be the correct rate.

see, staff in my store/area are payed a higher rate all year round (even though we're in the same state) because we're expected to do more extended trade. so that could be why we're being payed different penalty rates.
