With the amount of tutoring I received in year 5-6 (5 days at its peak), I basically wasted my mums money by not getting into a top school whereas I knew people whose parents taught them everything and got into good schools

I just wanna tell you guys that getting into selective isn't a be all end all! as someone who actively denied a selective school offer in year 6, I'm doing pretty well at this school of my choice (those who know know), and honestly performing above many selective school levels. this isn't to say that selective isn't worth it!! I hope you guys get into your dream school, selective or not - just know that you can do amazingly with or without!! don't spend all your junior years stressing 💕

genuinely why is getting into selectives so different and so much more difficult compared to year 6 entry...like you just do a test then? and now they're expecting you guys to perform so academically well and pull a bunch of co-curriculars out of your butt...when I was in years 7-9 I literally did jack...do kids actually in selective schools do as much as you do now? no judgement, more awe and genuine confusion

the dedication is impressive - this really does read like American college application, haha! it'll all be worth for the dream school I'm sure
frfr, but i don't think i would've gotten into ruse if i had applied in year 6. i was so unmotivated back then 😭
