lol yeah that’s fine if your reports are like basically all As especially in all core subjects and no Cs and beyond and you perform well on the test it’s completely fine you’re getting in. I know I’d you apply to Baulkho, maybe it changed now but my friend applied last year for entry into year 10, and she got 2 d’s, one in maths and one in engkish and she still got in cause of edu

my schools usually bottom of top 10
Oh that’s still pretty good. I just wanted to know where the majority of transfers came from. Most come from top 10 too, so it shouldn’t be too hard to adjust here. The lowest i know who’s transferred is from a 40+ ranked school.

if you don’t mind me asking, what rank school are you from like top 10,20/30. And also you spiderlemonade?
when I tried searching up my school's ranking, it said it's not publicly available... But all I know is that my school's ranking isn't very high. That's basically the reason I was aiming for a higher ranked school. Do they take the current school ranking seriously when determining transfers for year 9?

Ahh not too much, especially if you score quite well like all to majorly superiors. But if there’s like a group of higher ranked school students and they perform and their reports and stuff are similar they might tend to prefer higher ranked students because they think it’s hard for students beyond a certain range to adjust. But I think it’s since, if the ranking isn’t available then it shouldn’t be an issue

Didn’t Someone here transfer from hurlstone to jr this year? That’s like a jump from mid rank to top rank school. So it should be fine for you. Also you should try out for Baulkho too like put it as your second pref because there’s a good chance you could get into there as well
i second this, baulko opens up ~25 spots in yr9 from what i've heard
not a lot of schools open up a whole new class in year 9 so you have a good shot for baulko and ruse

Yeah I'm planning to call baulko after the school holidays end and ask how many spots they open up for yr 9 entry. Everyone's saying they open up a new class but I can't find any information abt it on their website

I also considered applying for girraween and Penrith but they usually don't have too many spots for yr 9.

ykw, you should apply to all three schools then. There’s no harm at all, but girra is hast right? Or you could try out for like the syd schools like nsg/nsb, whatever school you prefer but also keep in mind the travelling distance

Yeah, I thought about the Sydney schools but they usually don't have many places for yr 9 entry, they open classes for yr 11. Girraween is HAST, and I think I'll go with the edutest schools this year so probably just ruse and maybe baulko. Thanks for the advice though!
