Hey guys, im currently trynna prepare for edutest year 9 entry this year and im kinda cooked cuz i dont really know what im doing. i have been doing like preparation like practice tests and stuff but im looking for guidance on like which study methods to use or like how to study for this exam. also does anyone know like what extracurriculars and side stuff i should be doing to help my chances. rn i do choir, swimming, bharatnatyam (which is like a indian classical dance), and im gonna join like 3 or 4 more random clubs. my grades are pretty good as im assuming ill get mostly a's cuz my exam scores were pretty good. SO PLEASE HELP CUZ SINCEI DONT HAVE GOOD EXTRA CURRICULARS I NEED TO GET LIKE REALLY GOOD IN EDUTEST CUZ WITHOUT THAT I MIGHT NOT STAND A CHANCE BTW HOW MANY GET IN USUALLY FOR YEAR 9 ENTRYY. also side note i might be doing hast for girra so if anyone has any tips/guidance/advice anything is appreciated!!!
so I did the hast for penrith last year for entry into year 10 (didn't get in😭), my biggest weakness was abstract reasoning. You should try looking for some good resources. I studied for abstract with some cambridge test packs I DO NOT RECOMMEND. Try focusing of the math/science bit especially if you're not good at math, it doesn't have questions that are found in typical hs exams, more like testing your ability to apply math into various scenarios. For literacy focus on reading advanced texts and focus on study senior-level comprehension questions. Anyways good luck I hope you get in!!! (ALSO IMPORTANT - TIME MANAGEMENT IS KEY!!)

woah this has exploded with activity... im back on here bc im getting my report like next week and rlly concerned. i know im def getting a B in tech, pdhpe, and english, ive tried my best this term and im pretty confident that i'll get an A in the other subjects. y'all think i can still get into ruse class of 2029 with these grades if i study hard for edutest itself? i go to a top 10 school rn. my only extracurriculars/achievements are high mark in CAT test 2024, distinction in ABRSM piano from grades 1-7, and i played in the school band for 2 years. i feel like i havent done enough ngl 🥀

hey guys anyone know if i could put school clubs for my application to ruse? i have like no extracurriculars except that I play 3 instruments(good at piano, i play percussion in the school band, i play violin for fun), but i do a few clubs in school- business society, ISCF, and sometimes chess club. I also volunteer in the school library 1 or 2 days a week not sure if that's enough... my report for this term is also lowkey kinda bad- ive got two guaranteed Bs :(

Yes you can school clubs are a good for extra curriculars, and I think 2 guaranteed b's are fine but make sure that majority of your report is a's.

Let's hope so, try getting some practice tests first then see where your weaknesses are and then from there work on speed as edutest has really strict time limits like 30 mins for around 60 questions
