also i didn't know they changed it, when i sat the selective it used to be thinking skills
is abstract reasoning the same thing?

for selecive its thinking for HAST(8-11) its abstract. And abstract is different.

abstract reasoning is basically thinking skills but without verbal questions, only abstract shapes and spatial reasoning stuff like that, its prolly the easiest section in the HAST as its the only one predictable enough to do tutoring for, theres also reading, writing, and maths/science in the HAST which r deeper level questions and less predictable, theres also another exam called edutest which is used by top selective schools eg ruse, nsb, baulkham hills, on top of that sydney boys and normanhurst use their OWN entrance exams, so yeah yw (coming from a y9 2026 sydney technical HS transfer btw ) @luminescence
