I've only got a few tracks, so I'm not even sure what album they're off.

Is it better than Martyrs Crown? If not, I probably won't bother. WAMC, while an alright album, didn't really impress me as much as I would have liked.

i love nightrage's style of mdm, same with some mors principium est songs, this style is different to the old school mdm bands like IF, at the gates, etc.

Ok, well that's good to know. I've still got some other things to check out, but I'll add it to the evergrowing list.

Have you heard the heavier stuff, like SBM? e.g ChthoniC, Summoning, Equilibrium, Eternal Oath.
Of those, Summoning and Equilibrium are definitely worth a go. Also, probably closer to your style would be Diabolical Masquerade.

I believe kamelot and firewind made it in my 'musictoget.txt' :D

EDIT: Looks like it was just firewind, and I has already got it, might give them a listen.

I can't say I've heard any Death Metal...
It's usually only really worth it if you make the progression into heavier types of metal. Going from Pop Rock to Death Metal usually doesn't work for most people.

What about from stuff like Billy Joel and Queen to AC/DC to Nightwish?
Your on the right track. However, once at Nightwish:

Go to Power Metal: Dragonland, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Blind Guardian,

Move To Progressive: Everygrey, Dream Theater

At the same time, Metalcore: Trivium, I Killed The Prom Queen

Move To Progressive Death: Opeth, Cynic, Children of Bodom

Move Tech/Melodic Death: Decapitated, Into Eternity, In Flames

Speed/Death: Venom, Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel

Black Metal: Mayhem, Burzum, Hecate Enthroned, Dimmu Borgir

Grind: Carcass, Gutfuck, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Napalm Death

Something like the above is a rough guide. There's better examples for each genre out there, but that should get you started.
