there's no "minimum" amount, because it matters about the level of your achivement. you could be getting distinction for 100 certificates, but it wont' be as good as 3 "high distinction/gold medal" certificates. if your performance will be average, i would say do around 3-4 in a year, so considering its half of the current year and a full last year that they ask in the application - do around 5-6 comps/extracurriculars. but then again its subjective, there are people who had minimal certificates and still got in
Ahhh ok im striving for mainly a's next year as well. And if i show improvement from sem 2 this year to sem 1 this year is that also fine?

yes that’s fine. As long as your most recent report shows all As in primary subjects and rarely any bs overall. I’m pretty sure they prioritise the most recent report so dw

yes i agree with their writing competition. their writing competition was really bad, I personally am not sour about not getting in, but even top tier students found it not very useful, so yeah the writing competition is a waste of money. the harvard case comp is worth it because you're in teams, and you could end up with a very experienced person, and as a team of 4 you work together. even so, the experience is fun, you get a certificate and thats it, considering its under a pretty large harvard company. their harvard case comp is completely diff from their harvard writing comp. you should give it a go if you want to. its $15usd with the promo code.
I second this lol, some teachers at ruse were talking about this competition and how they really wanted people from their own school to participate in it, even though it’s not school run, so I’m assuming if you do do this an extra curricular, your cv would look distinguishable.? or like enhanced lol

Hey everyone! Does any1 know whether Hurlstone prioritises the hast results more or reports (alongside extracurriculars)?
I got into hurlstone (starting from next year). I'm not sure but its your HAST results first as thats what determines your interview chances. Then based on your teacher comments, attendance and reports, they'll give you either an offer or waiting list.

This year I did choir, debating, zonta club, amc, bharatnatyam, art club, swimming, gardening club. So next year I think I'll do more of the same extrac curriculars and I'll add maybe around 5 to 6 more comps to my portfolio. Also do capa comps count or do they like make a difference?

Since I am doing year 10 entry next year, I'm worried that I won't be able to collate enough extracurriculars by the submission date. I do have around quite a few extracurriculars from this year but I'm worried I won't be able to find enough comps by the time I submit my application next year. However, I'm confident I can do fairly decent in my sem 1 2026 report and the edutest exam. Will I be able to stand a chance if I don't have enough comps?
