    General UTS chit-chat

Re: The UTS 'Secks and Get ready to do some work!' Thread It's basically based on the older Principles of Distributed Computing subject, so shouldn't be too bad.

    General UTS chit-chat

Re: The UTS 'Secks and Bludge in Week 1!' Thread Any other programming subject would help before doing AIT. You just need to develop your programming skills, that's all. If you can do something like Mobile Programming, then that is probably the best subject to prepare you for AIT. I didn't get...

    General UTS chit-chat

Re: The UTS 'Secks and Bludge in Week 1!' Thread AIT is one of the hardest and challenging programming subjects in FIT, due to its content. If you manage to understand it at a good level, then you should consider yourself a good programmer. Anyways, from my experience, it's one of those...

    General UTS chit-chat

Re: The UTS 'Secks and Remember to get your stationery ready!' Thread Well this is one reason they have now standardised the IT courses, so now anyone doing any elective/major/sub-major subjects should have the same core knowledge =) It's true though in the old course those doing BScIT...

    General UTS chit-chat

Re: The UTS 'Secks and We still have holidays!' Thread I remember in good old first year before the days of MSA when we weren't enrolled into specific classes before the start of semester (well for IT anyways). We were either allocated by the lecturer or we put our names down for a class in the...

    General UTS chit-chat

Re: The UTS 'Secks and We still have holidays!' Thread Yeh, I asked this a while back and people decided it was best left to float. I think there's too many stickies anyways, so this thread probably stands out more as a non-sticky since there is usually at least a few posts everyday keeping it...

    URGENT question about combined degree

That policy has always been there since the start of the course in 2004. They do review the subjects people are doing, but I don't know if they ever take action. Like Huratio, I also have done 18cp of Business subjects in 1 semester (twice), but that was because I transferred as well.

    Accounting for Business Passmark

A grade of 44Z (from my understanding) means that you received a mark somewhere between 44 and 49 inclusive, so you may have already received 45 or above, but it is still a fail under the subject conditions. From memory, the only time you would have a recorded mark between 45 and 49 is when you...

UTS - Semester 1 2007 Guestimates + Official Results thread (Out Now!)

Re: UTS - Semester 1 2007 Guestimates + Official Results thread (Results out on Hotli The soft copy transcript you can get on MyStudentAdmin is basically what you get in an official copy. It's the same format, but on nicer paper. That should show all your subjects for your combined degree on...

UTS - Semester 1 2007 Guestimates + Official Results thread (Out Now!)

Re: UTS - Semester 1 2007 Guestimates + Official Results thread (Results out on Hotli Yes, credited subjects should show up on your transcript along with your marks and will count towards your average, provided they are part of your course. Again, same with the failed subject. If the subject...

UTS - Semester 1 2007 Guestimates + Official Results thread (Out Now!)

Re: UTS - Semester 1 2007 Guestimates + Official Results thread (Results out on Hotli Yes, it will either say: - Bachelor of X in Distinction - Bachelor of X in Credit - Bachelor of X There's honours as well I guess, but I'm not sure of the exact wording of those degrees.

UTS - Semester 1 2007 Guestimates + Official Results thread (Out Now!)

Re: UTS - Semester 1 2007 Guestimates + Official Results thread (Results out on Hotli Anything that shows up as 'Exempt' under your new course would not have a mark next to it, hence does not count towards your average. I assume, like me, you would have 2 courses in your transcript (ie. your...

    Accounting Major Overview

Company Law is (I believe) a fairly dry subject and can be kinda boring. If you take down enough notes, then the subject isn't too hard and I found the exam and assignments to be fairly straight forward. Taxation Law, I thought was more interesting, however I found the exams to be a bit harder...

UTS - Semester 1 2007 Guestimates + Official Results thread (Out Now!)

Re: UTS - Semester 1 2007 Guestimates + Official Results thread (Results out on Hotli No, your average does not appear on your transcript from memory. Your 2 degrees are graded seperately for all subjects that have grades for them (ie. if you have an 'exempt' subject these do not count). So...

UTS - Semester 1 2007 Guestimates + Official Results thread (Out Now!)

Re: UTS - Semester 1 2007 Guestimates + Official Results thread (Results out on Hotli It's up to the subject co-ordinator. Just ask them! For one semester I asked for my assessment marks coz according to my final mark it meant I had only just passed the exam. I asked her for my marks and she...
