    Astrophysics module - question.

Never mind my previous question, i understand it. :) A different question though. :p Do we have to know examples of binary/variable stars (other than ceiphids)?

Is it sufficient to just say: "they um when the when pressure was changed, different paterns occured and as pressure increased, streamers appeared" ?:D

Yeh but he needs it compressed, otherwise he'll need to use more "floppy discs". :D hmm...his converting to VCD, that doesnt compress. :D

    question about complements.

But thats taking sign and modulas into account? For e.g - take my previous example again this time taking -128: 11111111 (8bit) = -128 But "-1" is also = 11111111 (2's complement). Ok im really confused now, i dont think i know what im asking now. :D

    Astrophysics module - question.

Hi Im just wondering, how did the study of binary / variable stars lead to the abilitity of measuering stars mass/luminosity/distace/ and all the other crap? lol Thanks a lot :)

    question about complements.

Re: Re: question about complements. Ok but how is the problem solved? Here's an example in binary: 11111111 = 255 But "-1" is also = 11111111. So then how would the computer represent the # 255? Would an instruction be sent saying "this is in 2's complement" when representing a -ve...

    HalfLife 2 Source Code Stolen...

Yeh i know. The Gabe Newell mentioned that aswell (about the firewalll/filters etc...). He said that nothing picked it up. If it wasnt for outlook, this probably wouldnt have happend though. But they should still have patched it up when the patch was released.

    HalfLife 2 Source Code Stolen...

Some exploit with outlook. Seriously, i've never trusted & used outlook in my life (prolly dont know how to use it now :D), why the f*** do big companies use it? On top of that, MS released a patch for the exploit long before source code was leaked, lol.

    question about complements.

Option topic, "s/w developers view of h/ware". BTW, with my above question, i know computers only read in binary, i only used decimal for simplicity. :D Edit: enak was too fast for me. :D

    question about complements.

Hi, i've just got something really confusing me. If for example i want to represent -1 in 10's complement form. This will then equal to 999 right? But then, what if the computer wants to represent the actual number, '999'. How will it know whether it is representing a negative number, '-1' or...

    Questions

I wasnt saying arguing about which is cheaper. I was just saying what ISP charges $40 for dialup. As i said before, ADSL is allot cheaper than dialup for me even if i had to pay $70 p/month (saving $10-15 p/month). My average calls p/month with dialup was like 300. :D
