How do i cope with 15 units!?

I'd assume 12. He simply accelerated in Physics and Maths and sat the HSC exams for them. :) I_F

    What is time dilation?

The time dilation equation itself says that you can't move at the speed of light. The equation involves division by √(1 - v2/c2), and when you reach the speed of light that equals 0. You can't have division by 0, so everything falls apart. Anyways, time wouldn't stop. Time doesn't stop at all...

How do i cope with 15 units!?

webby did 4 units (2 unit Maths, Physics) in the HSC last year, and he's doing 13 in the HSC this year (see his sig). Hence, 17 units over 2 years. :) I_F

HELP: i don't know how add songs or to use a MP3 player

The program you posted is used to convert audio files on CDs to mp3 and hence reduce their sizes to a tenth of what they were. As far as I know, Audiograbber doesn't allow you to manage your mp3 player. What do you mean by "it plays wrong"? In what way does it play wrong? I_F

    Subject Advice

That's exactly why I hate History... too many dates and not enough ties between the dates to aid memory (something happened in 1847... what was it!?). I do Economics and that also something that annoys me - so many definitions and so easy to mess them up slightly. :p But still, if you can...

    Separation Problems

A hint for the future: When you are given little facts like these, it's almost always because they're required in the answer. Keep an eye out for them as they will steer you onto the right track. I_F

How do i cope with 15 units!?

You're in Year 11, and therefore you only have to do a minimum of 12 units. I'll say it pretty bluntly: there is no rationale for doing 15 units, and I advise you drop down to at least 13, 12 if possible. Pick out the subject you like least and get rid of it because you'll simply burn down in...

    Induction??? Help!!!

The point where most people fall with induction is, as Riviet and pLuvia have noted, where you need to use your assumption. Basically, say you have: Prove 1 + 2 + 4 + 8 + ... + 2n-1 = 2n - 1 is true for all n≥1 by induction. You know how to do the first two steps, and you end up with...

How manyt units did/do you do, and what UAI did/u aim to get?

Units: 12. UAI Aim: 95+ would be very nice. I_F

    What is time dilation?

Time dilation is the slowing down of time as you approach the speed of light. The faster you go, the slower things move for you compared to things not moving at the speed of light. The effect is caused by the constant speed of light. Check out your textbook's explanation of Einstein's thought...

    Amus

Sight reading and aurals used to be tested in the Associate exam, but they're not anymore. :) The AMusA is an Associate diploma - achieving it nets you an academic stole (lilac coloured) and the right to put "A.Mus.A." after your name. In Australia, it ranks below an academic degree, and as far...

    2004 Hsc

That's only the paper, not the solutions. I have the solution in a book of past papers, but they'll be tedious to type out. Do you have any specific questions that you want answers for? I_F

    Question

You have to prove the equation is true for all possible values of a, b, and c, not just a few random ones. I would assume that you expand (2a-b)3 + (2b – c)3 + (2c – a)3, then eliminate any instances of (a + b + c), as that equals 0, and that should equal the RHS. If I get time I'll expand it...

    House M.D.

House's voice is slightly different - more croaky, harder to understand. Maybe Hugh Laurie had a cold when they filmed the episode. I think I only noticed this because I just finished watching the Season 1 DVD. :p I_F

    Help

I think the box has been disabled for everyone - I can't see it in Non-School, here, or HSC. Perhaps the forums have gotten so large that it would slow down the server to add that feature. That's true, but only if you have politk's script installed, or some other script. Greasemonkey by itself...

    Best Preliminary Text Books

Jacaranda Physics for both Prelim and HSC is excellent. I don't like Conquering Chem, but it's my main text and everyone else loves it, so stick with it. :p I_F

    HSC Assessments- Thoughts/Results

Re: HSC Assessments- Thoughts/Results v1.0 English is a bugger, isn't it? I'm doing the Area of Study now (Imaginative Journeys). Currently I'm ranked equal first, but it remains to be seen whether I can keep it. It's not nearly as straightforward as the sciences or the maths. :( I_F

    freaked out.

Your total assessment mark (i.e. all of your assessments, added up and weighted) counts for 50% of your HSC mark. This is calculated using your rank as determined by the assessments (very, very simply, say you rank 4/15. You get the 4th highest mark in your class in the HSC exam as your...

    Timetables

I had 4 frees a week in Year 11. This year I'm down to 3 a week (and they're a little shorter as well). I actually find that doing nothing or something that isn't that important in my frees helps me focus more in normal lessons. It's good to have some time just to relax, fiddle around on the...
