ATi prepares for slaughter as nVidia announces 512MB 7800GTX

(on-par performance without having to look at raising pipelines yet, better optimisation in the caches and memory controllers making it a dominator with AA/AF enabled etc ATi's x1800 XT is clocked 50% faster than the 7800 GTX, which is why they stay on par with less pixel pipelines. If ATi...

    House M.D.

House is the British actor from Blackadder isnt he? The blithering idiot that Rowin Atkinson served/manipulated. His George in Blackadder Goes Forth remains, with House and Blackadder himself, three of my most favourite TV personalities. He was so stupidly naively hilarious he made your sides...

HARRY POTTER & the goblet of fire!!

I don't see why they need another new director, the last one wasn't that bad Alfonso Cuaron only wanted to do one film, IIRC. And with a seven-film series... it's a lot of work for just one director to do, I guess. But anyway, I'm looking forward to this one. Nothing negative so far, and it's...

ATi prepares for slaughter as nVidia announces 512MB 7800GTX

I have a feeling they wouldn't release it this time without having sufficient stock.. but again you never know. I assume that's why it's taken so long for the x1800 XT to appear. They want to make sure they have enough stock. Unfortunately, that lends them to fall way behind in the price...

    splitting up mp3s

I've used mp3directcut -> here for a while and it does a very good job. It takes a little work to get used to it, but once you do, it works very well. :) I_F

ATi prepares for slaughter as nVidia announces 512MB 7800GTX

Having the best card is nothing if consumers can't get their hands on it. I think nVidia will continue to eat into ATi's market share simply because it has a price advantage over its competitor (having released its current gen products earlier) and it has cards available on release day in...

sry bout that , but i got aactual problem

    find the equation of the locus of a point P that moves so that PA is twice the distance of PB where A = (0,3) and B = (3,-1) Let P = (x,y). PA = 2PB Therefore (PA)2 = 4(PB)2 [x2 + (y-3)2] = 4[(x-3)2 + (y+1)2] x2 + y2 - 6y + 9 = 4(x2 - 6x + 9 + y2 + 2y + 1) x2 + y2 - 6y + 9 =...

    I think my subjects suck

because of the nature of their scaling, since it soo bad. Like I said, pick subjects that you will do your best in. If you'll blitz Business Studies or Drama, go for it. No good doing Extension 2 Maths if you'll only get 4 in the exam. I_F

    Chem help Plz

This is Prelim work from "the Energy" chapter. Anyways, I found that the textbooks "Conquering Chemistry" and "Chemistry Contexts" gave me pretty much all the relevant information when I did this topic. But in short: -Describe Combustion in terms of slow, spontaneus and explosive reactions...

How much does prelim get tested in the HSC?

P.S. When does molar heat of combustion get covered? It actually gets covered in the Prelim course, part 4 - "Energy", or, more specifically, when you work on combustion in that chapter. I_F

    I think my subjects suck

Not really. No matter what subjects you do, if you do well enough in them, then you can get a UAI of 100. Having subjects that scale well is no prerequisite at all. However, being good at your chosen subjects, be they Drama, Maths, Physics, or Business Studies, definitely is a prerequisite...

    Free Period Time

We learnt it as: (r cis @)n = rn cis n@ But it looks to be the same thing in the end. :D Anyways, my school's redoing our entire timetable structure for next year. Each subject gets ten 45 minute periods per fortnight, up from 8 for most elective subjects, so hopefully I'll get some...

can a very basic html page be made in Word???

That is one HUGE image. If anything, if you can cut that image into separate sections and make each one a bit smaller, it'll make life a bit nicer for people still on dial up. Apart from that, it's a slick execution - nice, clear, and understandable. I_F

ATi R580 already in the works

NVIDIA have also confirmed their G72 core, which will be an update to the current-gen 7800 GTX and will be made on a 90 nm process. Get this: it's claimed that NVIDIA will be offering SLI support on the one card thanks to the smaller fabrication process. I_F

Two different procedures applied to the same marks. I was under the impression that it was the aligned marks from BOS that were scaled, not the raw. Apologies. I_F

    Hey everyone, can someone explain...

Trust me. In three years time, you'll know too much about the HSC. Don't worry about it now - just enjoy yourself and try to grasp the fundamentals that you're learning now. It'll make life much easier come Year 11 and 12. I_F

    Some Questions

If a course is 'negatively scaled' then is it correct to say that the raw mark is always higher than the scaled mark? Similarly, if a course is 'positively scaled' then does that mean the raw mark is always lower than the scaled mark? Scaling only applies when your aligned marks are taken and...

    Chem vs Phys

In Physics, you get supplied with formula sheets and most of the maths involves remember the appropriate equation off the sheet to use, then using it correctly. Physics is much more about the concepts behind the maths now. I can't really think of how to describe Chemistry at the moment, but talk...
