    school captain/prefects thoughts

Re: School captainincy nominations If a school is any decent, they wouldn't let their prefects and school captain be elected based solely on student votes (i.e. popularity). Like at my school, after the votes are taken, they are audited by the executive and our year-coordinator.

Recommended Texbooks/Study Guides for Preliminary HSC?

Re: Recommended Texbooks/Study Guides? I reckon its the same with both Fitzy and Cambridge - they give hard questions with no assistance at all, but yeah the questions and theory in those books are pwnage. I feel sorry for those using books like Maths in Focus... that's like the trashiest book...

    Relationships: Supplementary Texts

Basically involves the interaction between a person and another person, object or one's self and are either dysfunctional or functional. That's probably the Area of Study in a nutshell.

Recommended Texbooks/Study Guides for Preliminary HSC?

Re: Recommended Texbooks/Study Guides? I doubt Fitzy would help. I mean he seems pretty lazy from his solutions that he includes in the book. I only used Excel for maths once, and they have some weird methods in their solutions, so I'm not a big fan of Excel.

    Relationships: Supplementary Texts

Hey Guys! I’m currently doing my Area of Study in English (yeah we’re weird and we do AoS last) and my Area of Study is on Relationships. I need a few supplementary texts for an upcoming assessment and I’m running low on ideas. I have a film and a play already; however I was hoping to get a...

General thoughts on the 2008 CSSA Trial Extension 1 Mathematics Paper

I go to Fairfield Pats! I was one of the Year 11 Accelerated guys doing the test... near the door. I thought the test was pretty hard, because I'm pretty sure the accelerated guys in Year 11 were not ready for it - we crammed the whole 3u course (11 and 12) in less than 2 terms. Who are you...

General thoughts on the 2008 CSSA Trial Extension 1 Mathematics Paper

I hated that exam (Except for Q1 - that was the best...). I was also suprised to find out that my maths coordinator co-wrote the exam. Brother Domenic... that probably explains why I thought the test was hard... I hate his tests!

    CSSA Mathematics Advanced Paper

I don't think the CSSA would let the school run the exam later then any other school, and I think they would have a 'make-up'exam for those who missed out on the trials.

    CSSA Mathematics Advanced Paper

It wasn't too bad, but I don't think it was as easy as many of the trial papers I did. I completed almost every question, except for the last part of q10 and also I somehow forgot the circle and triangle question (completely forgot about trigonometry) but everything else I think I'm good with...

Hmm you could try films such as 'O' by Tim Nelson. Sorry that's the only one from the top of my head right now.

To drop or not to english ext 1?

I believe if you like it - then keep it. However, if you don't then drop it. Because there's no point in doing a subject you do not like.

Recommended Texbooks/Study Guides for Preliminary HSC?

Re: Recommended Texbooks/Study Guides? Yeah, my SDD teacher told me when she was doing 4u maths, she would often call him, and he's always help. Wonder what would happen if someone called Fitzpatrick or the guy who writes Cambridge?

Recommended Texbooks/Study Guides for Preliminary HSC?

Which subject is more "prestigious" - English Extension 2 or Mathematics Extension 2?

Ever heard of acceleration? Besides, why can't 09ers comment, it's an open thread and everyone should be able to voice their opinions - its a matter of agreeing or disagreeing with them. As a few have said, they are both extremely difficult courses, and anyone who does these courses and...

possible to get a uai of 80 + if general maths is done?

Yes, just make sure you do really well in general and all your other subjects. If you do that, you'll prob be able to get 90+ (but that depends on your other subjects).

Future Plans: What ATAR/course/job are you aiming for?

Re: What UAI are you aiming for? 90+ seems like a realistic goal. I'm not too sure with b0s either, it thinks I can get over 97, but I dont think I can. But seriously I think its too early to tell, it all depends how hard you work next year.
