Ladies: do you care if your man goes to a strip club?

ok, so you were financially exploited (your point)...but really weren't (because your mates paid)...and as such, that makes frequenting strip shows something your (hypothetical) girlfriend should completely understand and tacitly support? can someone clear this up for me? dynamic's issues are...

    Argh. (Monash)

thanks guys!! i was just a tad worried...especially cos i thought i went better in monash than unsw...argh. but i guess it could've been different depending on what the interviewers wanted. hmm.

    Argh. (Monash)

Ok, I applied and got an interview...and naturally, there is the case that I had an appalling interview without knowing it...but here are my marks: UMAT: 196 UAI: 99.55 And I didn't get a place. How the HELL can I make UNSW if I can't make Monash!?!??!?!! *cries* Anyone else in a similar...

Ladies: do you care if your man goes to a strip club?

YAY!!! someone said it. i would feel hurt if my bf wanted to go...like i wasn't enough. especially cos i would hope to be going out with a guy with similar values to myself...his wanting to indulge in porn and go to strip clubs would show that his values differed from mine. but that might just...

    Would you have an abortion?

*applauds* definitely. i would have the child, and if i couldn't support him/her, adopt him/her out but keep up my contact details with the agency so if s/he wanted, s/he could find me. however, i would always try my utmost to avoid that so i could be a mother to my baby...to hell with...

    Literature

hey - The Book Thief by Markus Zusak has to have been one of the most heartwrenching books I've read for a LONG time. It's told from the perspective of death and has some really interesting insights into the power of language...really a good book. The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold is...

Phillip Pullman - His Dark Materials

oi!!!!! i read a LOT more than harry potter, thank you very much!!!! hp just happens to be something that i discuss a lot. i stand by my opinions on HDM nonetheless...they just got crapper. however, that's not really THAT bad, seeing as northern lights started out really well.

    English Essay Memorisers!!!

memorised english essays for both adv and ext 1: got 93 and 47. i might add i memorised essays in modern history and got 97...then again, i could only memorise germany + conflict in pacific + 1st leni....the other 40 marks had to be winged in the exam.

HARRY POTTER & THE HBP - what did you think? (SPOILERS!)

I think Harry/Luna would be a bit too...unequal. Harry feels sorry for her, and while pity is a fine feeling and acceptable in a friend, it is just a bit too...squicky for a romantic relationship. His asking her to the party had more to do with Luna's comment about "Oh, it's been a bit lonely...

Phillip Pullman - His Dark Materials

the trilogy was ok, i guess. i was absolutely entranced by northern lights...the subtle knife was pretty good...but the amber spyglass left me absolutely cold. not just the overtly tactless atheist allegories, but more the flatness of the entire book. the whole thing had been building up to some...

    Chronicles of Narnia

personally i LOVE lewis's style!! he's so amazingly...understated. particularly when dealing with things like battles. i really liked the books, expecially 'the lion, the witch and the wardrobe' and 'the silver chair'...when i was little, i wished that narnia was a real place. as for...

HARRY POTTER & THE HBP - what did you think? (SPOILERS!)

what everrrrrrr..... i would like to add, by the way, that i do not believe harry will die. there are many reasons for this. the first is that the story began with harry losing his family. the only way it can end, in a circular, nice way (the way in which rowling often writes) is with him...

    The Big Read

1984, George Orwell: Have read it and loved it. So haunting, and so critical. Very interesting. Captain Corelli's Mandolin, Louis de Bernieres: Also read this one, and loved it - I enjoyed the relationship between Capt Corelli and Pelagia. Cried my eyes out near the end of the book, much...
