Australia doesnt need Moore. Give the younger blokes some experience; Milicevic as an example.

Umm the World Cup is hardly a place to give young 'uns some "experience"

Bring back Moore and Foxe, they have served us well over the years and they deserve to be given a chance to prove themselves before we draft in the next generation.

Foxe is still really badly injured, isnt he? I doubt he will make it back in time. But if he does, him and Moore will be there for sure. And as for Thwaite and Milicevic, they will get their chance, we'll need all the defenders we can get. Duke stays captain.

English tabloids have reported Guus Hiddink is emerging as a possible contender to replace Sven-Goran Eriksson as England coach. Surely its a load of shit, the English job is fulltime, Guus would have to quit PSV.

haha noo if hiddink is considering being a country to anyone, surely it should be for Australia!! we will also do our best to give him a house on an island and free lifetime travel on Qantas. Maybe name a coral reef after him as well.
we shouldnt forget moore after our qualification. it wasnt his fault he was injured; if he wasnt surely he would have played some part. but i agree- definiltely keep Dukes as captain; he has prospered so well under his new leadership role. give the young' uns some experience in the friendlies we are to have, maybe not in the World Cup unless they deserve it.

But we also don't need players who haven't played over 100 minutes during the last 4-5 months. I would give Milicevic out of the inexperienced defenders a chance instead of Moore. Everyone is intitled to their opinions and this is quite simply mine.

still got my shirt on - wore it every day
hey, if you's haven't heard the abc radio commentary from wilko and andy harper yet yous should; it lets you re-live the moment again
http://www.abc.net.au/sport/content/200511/s1508546.htm
- it's on the right

i must say, i din't really lose my voice properly till extra time
it's a shame on tv that the full volume of the corwd didn't come out. i mean, during their anthem...fuck, the only way you knew it was going still was b/c their players were shown on the big screen. and then in their anthem, at the end they have a small part where they sing for about 30 secs, and people started booing even louder. absolutely awesome - we did exactly what we had to do. i must say, i didnt have conficdecne in the quality of australian football crowds but that was good stuff

it was such a night. my brother who was sitting next to me said he had never heard that many profanities from one person in his life. i just couldn't think of anything else to say. i just ended up swearing loudly - "fuck you fossati you puta, cock-sucker, maricon....' 'oh that's bullshit ref you blind cunt - get fucked you fucker' etc. incoherant it may have been but none the less, it did the job. it climaxed during their penalties. that's when i was just yelling and my vice resembled some 50-year old chain smoker's.
but we did the job. i was thinking in the 20 minutes, b/c of how dodgily we were playing, 'oh fuck, it's all back fired, there's too much pressure on them'
but enter harry kewell and it all went up from there.

fucking brilliant

but seriusoly listen to that commentary
and how good was fossie on sbs - great stuff. you can just feel the tension and agony that was being dispalyed in the ground through the commentary. pretty much by extra time, no commentators were really neutral but who cares, there was too much riding on it for australia.

oh, fantastic. the english language cannot adequately describe the feeling. euphoria, orgasmic, i dunno everyone who watched or who was there knows what i'm on about. anyone who loves football and loves the socceroos and has witnessed previous failed campaigns at the final hurdle, and bad luck and all that. anyone who has had to endure your average dum arse fuck auzzie, who's never watched a game of football in their lives, yet still feels hey can comment, predicting that we would not get to the w.c 'becasue we're shit at soccer, aren't we?" all that and and more. the consant piss taking. well everything and everyone can get fukced now. we are there. and we will do well
Hiddink "today is a good day, so today let's say, let's go all the way' johnny would be proud

WE'RE IN
in the words of another iconic auzzie sportsperson, who may be a dick head and engaged to a chick with no chin, but at least he's got passion:

C'MON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nah foxe is fukced up bad - he's close to retiring
but really we need moore - he's a class act and once he is fully fit will walk into the dodgy new'le defence. while he may not regain his captaincy he is a defender in his prime, our most experienced (along with vidy) and our best central defender easily. if he were there neill would not jhave to have been converted to one.
trust me, he is quality and we need him

The only downside of Australia's qualification is that everyone is suddenly a football expert which annoys the shit out of me - especially when you get guys who have no idea what they are talking about.

I say jump on the bandwagon, but don't be a cock about it.

i say show your worth, be that some actual fact about football (and not beckham plays for RM)

or play a game and not look like a dick

that usually does it

As long as people sustain their interest in football - it's fine. However, when you get someone who has only ever watched the Australia v Uruguay game and says stupid shit like "Viduka started his career at Celtic without playing in Australia" and actually tries to argue it with you, it is extremely annoying.

But braad, you're right, people should actually get into football and not just be glory hunters like all the Chelsea fans are. :)

But isn't it a good thing that some people start out as glory hunters, and then get interested in the game and become real fans?

I mean, some of my girlfriends only started liking the game because they checked out the Jap/Korean players from last WC, but now they're hardcore fans of random European teams i know nothing about.
I admit that my initial interest was that Cassilas was hot, but now i think i've moved on from that...

Not everyone has a football crazy family/friends, other people have to start somewhere, whether its glory seeking or pretending to know it all after watching one match.

People who are 'proz' just get cut because other people get interested and at the start dont have as much experience as them.

The problem is that the people who showboat about knowing which club beckham plays for are the same type of person who gets cut that some 'noob' is starting to talk about football. They are both showboaters who are pretty shit so they live off their knowledge of the game.

I totally agree, more interest = More money into the sport = more Youth Academies and development which then produce better Australian footballers and increase the Quality and Interest
