20 years.... that's as long as I have lived so far.

It sucks. If they had to find her guilty based on their legal system, why couldn't they have given her 2 years? 5 years? But 20? For bringing in drugs that they can't really prove are hers? Over here 20 years is what we give someone who has killed a person.

I can only hope the appeal can yield a better verdict. Maybe the media coverage (even though I have issues about some of it) can get more evidence to appear? We can only hope.

who's to say they dont get harsher sentences for rape and murder

even so, it's still fkn stupid........20 years for something that hasn't been proven with solid evidence.

she's what? 20 something?

20 years.....when she gets out if it isnt reduced bla bla bla she'll be 40

that's 20 years of her life gone, usually people get married round 25-30...she misses out on that.....she misses out on alot of things her life is gone because thr stupid judges acted on something that wasn't 100% proved.

i cant believe the level of morons in this country.

the bali 9 only 4 of them had drugs strapped to them.

Does anyone have a brain? if you do can u please use it to find out if the afp had the right to dob in the bali 9 and help have them executed?

the bali 9 alot of those should be freeed - the australian government should not be co-operating with indonesia in death penalty cases.

AS for corby - she had drugs in her bag - how do we know this doesnt happen in australia? lets sith through australian cases -

i think corby is innocent but i recon heaps of ppple in australian jail are innocent.

Why do we only concentrate on corby its bull shit.

Our system is just as bad as indonesias.

but where is this stuff which says she is so non guilty?
what possible evidence could a person in her situation present to prove their innocence then that she hasn't?

you don't have to prove innocence

marijuana?

are you serious?
did i ever say they had a huge impact on society (compared to the other "harder" drugs)? even marijuana effects society. it's apparent in australia, and imo, it would be worse in indonesia.

some baggage handlers smuggle drugs, thats almost a proven fact.

once thats proven - every single person who is on smuggling charges should be released.

everyone in australia who got busted with drugs in their bag, most of those should be freeeeeeed, because then there is reasonable doubt.

We need to follow the fucking law - we are sending people to jail where there is a shit load of reasonable doubt.

Cause, you know, we've all been in both and its quite obvious that Indonesian prisons are 21% shittier than Australian Prisons.

I hear Australia has the best detention centres too.
