yes and preservation efforts include use of technology like 3d scanners, x-rays and robots to scan for damage, donations from the world monument fund and UN, the great pompeii project for conservation, building better facilities, limiting inflow of tourists and redirecting them to nearby sites too

tbf dont know lots, i know public buildings but not private ones really. private religion, etc. home varied in size and razzle dazzle depending on the economic status of the owner. some buildings were 2 stories, however only the 2 storied homes in herc have been perserved due to the more consistent and larger preservation of the city in the volcanic rock. most homes did not have running water, or private latrines. many used public facilities/water fountains. higher class homes would have gardens (which fun fact caused higher rates of tuberculosis and malaria due to the mosquitos these gardens attracted) as well as latrines, baths, frescos, running water (which caused led poisoning)
