i went to a school where about 7 of us were at unsw. 2 of them were in the same faculty as me. but i never saw them and i had to make friends from scratch. i basically bumped into people that i met at the faculty welcome day and over time became friends with them.

even now, in my 4th year, ive still remained friends with a majority of friends i made in those first few weeks at uni.

sigh~survive second day, thanks for comforting advices.

Anyway, I am still thinking off dropping or transferring law to art, everytime i look at the course outline i feel a sinking sensation because of the extreme workload and fast pace in uni:(...and no kidding.

And about the adminstrative stuff, if i wanna do that (transfer or drop), wat do i need to do?

I really hope to get some advice, today is the worst day in my life, and I am still feeling really really down.

Most of my high school friends are at UTS or usyd or TAFE in the city, I am so lonely today at unsw and from 10am-6pm i've been all by myself. After buying the textbook I feel even worse dreading the workload i will have in uni compare to the laidback days in high school. I am confused and don't really know what to do, I am thinking of dropping law somehow.

I am also having trouble finding student service contact on unsw website, I am hoping to contact a councillor for help, appreciate if someone can direct me to one.
Gosh!, wow, you're just like me except it's the reverse lol! Like 50-60% of our year 12 group are at unsw and others are at places like UTS as well as other Unis everywhere leaving a small group with the 30 or less UAI or tafers and on top of all that there's little old me who's the only one from my high school going to a very good uni(USYD).

Gosh it was so scary at first, but gradually you end up meeting new people there, whether it would be in a lecture or a tute, or even at a club. Remember this: Rome wasn't built in a day, eventually your confusion and anxiety will die down and there will be others there who will be there every step of the way with your workload :)

Looking at the course outline seems scary, but if you look carefully the amount of readings you'll be doing for Arts subjects will be similar to Law as you progress onto your senior years of university. Don't give up yet!! Getting into Law may be hard, but perfecting the art of preparation and study is all part of university, and that my friend is even harder. Just give it some time. Don't let 4 pages of the outline freak you out ;)

perhaps consider seeing how're your doing with your courses until census date (last day of this month). If you think you can't hack it, you can drop a course without financial or academic penalty.

I'm pretty lucky i guess.
I made friends on my very first day of uni. The other people I met through bos =p and then met other people through them. .. it all becomes everyone knows everyone sort of thing later on.

Been friends with them every since.

no, unfortunately. Are you in any of these: foundation of law, microeco, quantitative method A, accounting and financial managament?
