wasn't it

The Secret Organization - Al-Qaida in Europe

and i don't think it'll be much of an issue whether or not this group is directly associated with al-qaida or not. i mean, it has al-qaida in it's name, right?
Is that a joke?

London was fortunate that their city doesnt include any high rise buildings like that of Manhatten, hence reducing the number of casualties.

Well thats retarded. Many groups are just claiming to be cells of Al-Qaida to try and join the broader Islamic militant movement. There is thought to be little communication between cells, if any. Some political sceintist or something like that from Pakistan or maybe russia im not sure, anyway he claims there may not even be a al-Qaida. He goes on to say it may be random Islamic groups.

Also on the talk about the IRA. The IRA and its splinter groups are not dormant, they under Sien Fien are doing political negotiations. Im not sure about the whole issue i just know they are doing other work.

i've watched a documentary regarding al-qaida and such produced by the bbc which had opinions similar to what you've mentioned. some where along the lines of "al-qaida" being a construct used to direct public hatred... regardless, blame has to be placed on somebody's shoulders, and i'm inclined to believe that it will fall on al-qaida.

skynews seems to be the most reliable source of info at this point in time.

Moonlight and the other mods (surprise surprise) are not here.

But I think its time to get this thread back on track...

I have the feeling that the number of dead is being supressed
I've been tracking the events of this thread, and anti-mathmite, you are entitled to your own beliefs, but when those beliefs infringe upon racial discrimination and other such concepts, a line has to be drawn.

You have not supported any of your arguments, merely spouting highly opinionated and outdated concepts. If you have a wish to 'define' australian-ness, i would LOVE, as would many people im sure, to find out your concept oh this, and how it is superior to every other concept as you imply.

But for now, don't troll this section and keep such discriminatory and highly offensive thoughts to yourself.

Yes there are confirmed deaths in the bus explosion, although the precise numbers cannot be confirmed. But the figure is reported in the media at 7.

Well its no surprise that many in this forum truly believe that I support terrorists. First and foremost let me state that in no way shape or form do I support the actions of any terrorists. In saying so I would also like to legitimise the fact that there is no excuse for the oppressive super powers of our world to go in and occupy foreign territory. Indeed in the context of Iraq ( and I shall come bak to London)- it does raise some questions as to the justification of the war. Altough many of us have mixed feelings we can be glad that

1. Saddam is gone

however we cannot look past the state that Iraq is in today. Which sort of brings me to my next point, which is one of appreciation. Appreciation for what?
Everytime someone seems to turn on the TV , its always “Islamic terrorists”- indeed many are, but one cannot (I my personal case) understand why such negative media portrayal is directed at the Islamic faith. Is it just a phase in the gradual development of our society?

Something white rabbit pointed out to me

They don't care how many of us die, who suffers as a result of their actions. But terrorists who par-take in the same exercise of the indisriminate murder of innocent civilians are no longer innocents, and are no better than the leaders using them.

What he is talking about a somewhat of a 2 way dynamic. Ones (negative) actions cannot be legitimised simply, I am lost for words ( payback), and its true.

Now down to our context and the recent events that unfolded a few hours back. I guess there is always an appreciation of diversity in our society, but there is a point at which diversity can become so inimical as to threaten its very survival. So then when this diversity (dies off) what we get is an action, which at once is a collective action but none the less individuated to the level of individuals, which is perhaps why we get soo many suicide bombers- Can you blame them? Or should u seek to blame the root of the cause?

HENCE WE GET 4 BLASTS IN LONDON.

How can u blame any one group or person…when we are all at fault.
