Damn~~~Did ur sister school got scaled up because of that "emotional" trauma inflicted by the death of a student?

If thats the case, I wish someone in my school can die (jst joke)
Mate they handled it really badly..

for example, my sister's ranks were:

eng adv: 1st
bio: 1st
religion 2 unit: 1st
PDHPE: 1st
2 unit maths: 2nd
chem: 8th (didnt count)

english was the problem..

She was predicted at something like 97 for english as a raw mark. She was crying during her exam along with everyone else and got like 75 or something.

The BOS took it into account, and boosted everyone by 5 marks.

So they gave her 80 for english.. the school complained again, the girls wern't happy but were not bothered to be vocal about it..

so eventually her UAI went from 98.5 to 98.65

It wasn't fair i dont think

My sister did the hsc in 06, the night before her english exam one of her good mates hung herself, it was on the news and all.

A lot of them found out the morning of their english exam.. apparently the entire exam room was just writting and crying.. really sad stuff.

Theres a lot of suspicion around it though! like no one saw it coming and she didnt need a UAI or anything .. she was set to make it big as an irish dancer, won a million competitions.

ironically, after they left the exam (which they had been writting about something to do with the media), the school was packed with media, they were so over everything lol

Man. I seriously don't understand why you'll tell people about this right before their first exam. Fucking stupid IMO.

I think i'm going to have to if i don't get 60 UAI yea 60 UAI is hard to get according to the Facking SAM Calculator.

I need a bloody 70's and a 90 for a 60 UAI that's suicide. :(

I feel sorry for the 90 goers.

I think they are being unreasonable in their marking rules...

I think he's saying that it was a poor decision to tell people about what had happened to their friend right before her friends did the exam.

ahh...
its the title of the thread, the first post asked to share stories!
and i had one that was relevant.
if someone was to read through they would find that we suggested that anything harmful relating to the HSC was stupid, because HSC means nothing at the end of the day

From my experience you dont need ideas, you need triggers.
Someone talking about slamming pencils up nostrils isn't as damaging to a fragile student as being told 'rahrah < 30UAI rahhrahh' or some other.. yeah, trigger.

oh.

hahah.

well in that case - yes it was ridiculous.

it spread to quickly.. my sister was fortunate (or unfortunate?) to have found out the morning of the exam, a heap of girls knew the night before.

the reason they found out is cos the rents rang a few of the girls to ask if they knew where lil was, who then became worried. they then all found out about it, my sister fortunately had her phone off the night before and had a good night sleep.

she woke in the morning and turned her phone on.. got a call.. her friend was like hey..
and my sister was like YEAHHHHHHHHHHHH HS WHAT!!!!?!?
and then yeh she found out.. it was so sad, i hate seeing that shit

Yeah she was heaps pretty - had a lot going for her.

She also left behind a boyfriend of 4 or 5 years.. something heaps long.

I hope no one does either! however I think in our day they try reinforce the fact that HSC isn't the end.. its pretty tiny, i guess its directed to things like that
our school prep talked us before we started the exam said a pray etc... pretty much affirming that its a 'small part of life'...
