they allowed me to pick it wihout looking at anything. but also keep in mind that at syd girls u can freely choose to do ext 1 math/ext 1 eng.

does anyone know when the girra orientation is or was the interview just the orientation

just did girra "interview" yesterday.
when u enter they give u a 12 page form u need to fill, it wont affect your application or enrolment, its only just to update ur sentral information and record. then the deputy principal and a few year advisers and other important people start talking to all the kids and parents abt girraween high school and how everything works such as uniform and timings. theyll leave u to continue doing the form and then they each individually call one family at a time to discuss a bit more abt girra, they dont ask u any questions they just give u info. what they also give u is a confirmation of enrolment form that basically says "congratulations for successfully joining girra" and an ict agreement that youll detnsw internet software without doing inappropriate shit like playing games. u can also ask a few questions to whoever is interviewing u and then u basically leave thats literally it it aint even an interview

Does anyone know about students who are enrolled in high schools but then go overseas and aren’t attending most of the year?
I hear there is a kid in Penrith who hasn’t attended all year. This I feel is very unfair as it is taking up a place
The other kids in that year say there hasn’t been a new student since she hasn’t attended so they didn’t cancel her spot
Has anyone heard of this?

Nope - I haven't heard of this before. I believe there was some sort of conditions regarding this on NSW's website but it is for sure unfair.

I'm not 100% sure about this, but there was this one girl who was initially on the roll at Penrith for the first term in my year, but she never turned up. I think she ended up choosing Girra or something and didn't let Penrith know. Another girl transferred back to her old school after term 1 this year, and that spot didn't get replaced either.

What are the movement of reserve lists like? Have schools already checked their enrolment numbers or still doing that? I know from previous, that schools send out notices checking if people are continuing or leaving next year; I’m confused about if there are people who left after Term 1 then there are obviously places but still haven’t had any update from reserve list yet. School doesn’t release anything saying the Dept of Edu told them not to, but the Dept of Edu say they have nothing to do with selective after year 7. There is literally no way to get extra information from, idea of how to plan for next year or anything.
Anyone here who got offer from reserve after schools have done a head count of enrolments or something?

If there are people that leave after Term 1 - it's often not for some sort of academic reason. Usually its because they are moving away from that area, or to another country. Unfortunately, the reserve list is not updated after these people leave because it would be too much of an interference for a student to catch up on an entire semesters worth of work. That's why offers are only made until the end of Term 1 - because completing the first term of work is much simpler, than say, doing the entire semester again.
Yeah - Dept of Edu doesn't have anything to do with the TEST itself - however adminstrative procedures, like the student records (required for transferring schools etc.) are managed by the Dept. of Edu. That's why they can enforce things regarding, well, administrative procedures - whereas ACER produces the test itself.
