    The Football Thread

Re: The Official Football Thread Regardless, a keeper at that level shouldn't really ever be getting beaten at the near post. Don't get me wrong, the defense was schoolboy, but so was Cech. Eh, the whole title thing was just a lofty dream to begin with. However, assuming Newcastle will drop...

    The Football Thread

Re: The Official Football Thread Loved seeing Cech get beaten twice at his near post, once through the legs and getting sold into no-mans land by his defence. Really one of the worst performances I've ever seen from a supposed world class keeper.

    Co-op scholarhip

It must just be how well you can sell yourself. I got Actuarial but honestly had a fairly skint academic and extracurricular resume. Had HDs in economics and maths comps with fairly good school rankings (nothing amazing, but fairly all round) and a reasonable sport representation with a bit of...

    Co-op scholarhip

Well I'd have to move for either, so I'm not too fussed. It's just Melbourne is so much nicer than err... Randwick. Indeed.

    Co-op scholarhip

Got mine for Acturial. Does anyone know the approximate figures of how many apply/interviewed/accepted? Really throws me a curve ball actually cos I had my heart set on Melbourne Uni, if I get a full co-op at UNSW I don't know what I'm gonna do.

    Anyone feel that...

'Nomics essays allocate a recommended 35 minutes, so you don't have much of a case there. I agree though 40 mins means the exams overly favour those who can rote learn and write fast and that's why Advanced English is almost exclusively hated by all those with average or below handwriting speed.

    The Football Thread

Re: The Official Football Thread How excited did little Leo get when he scored that goal, can't remember the last time I've seen him do that. Yes Barca are great, but I think it was more just Man U getting showed up for the mediocre, ageing team they are. Can't see them being able to...

The Official UEFA Champions League Thread

One down three to go in the el classico marathon. The two players on everybody's lips scored but both of them were from the spot. The league is done and dusted anyway so that game really just acted as a preview for the excitement we have coming up over the next couple of weeks. By the way, for...

Einstein's Question - (Only 2% of the population can successfully solve this)

It's actually a breeze if you know how to solve these sorts of "logic"" puzzles. It's really just a mater of tediously going through the variables and crossing them off. And as for the whole "Einstein created this and said on 2% of the world can do it", it's pretty much bullshit. The first...

Wollongong - bogan capital of the country?

Bogans and a lack of anything to do outside of mediocre houseparties and shitty nightclubs. Some people enjoy the beach I guess.

Wollongong - bogan capital of the country?

If they're coming from the city everyday and spending most of their time at the Uni I guess it would be alright. If they're planning on living there then they better get used to crushing depression.

Wollongong - bogan capital of the country?

Crazy Croatian indeed. Khorne lives in a pretty posh place towards the beach. As for the rest of Wollongong, particularly the west, meth clinics galore. And a 99.9% bogan dominated nightlife.

    How's everyone going so far?

Entirely so. Got 97% for the first exam (Complex Numbers), but in fairness it was an absolute joke of a test with predictable questions. I think the average of our 25ish person class was around the 75-80% mark, although there are four people in the class that did 4U last year and are redoing the...

The Official 2010 Fifa World Cup Thread

I agree with lots of what you just said but the truth is Australian sports fans are just that "sports" fans. They're bandwagon jumpers who have no interest other than seeing their country win. They have no love of the game like you or I and it's wishful thinking to believe they are going to give...
