Hey everyone, The USU diary informs me that we have an Anzac Day Holiday on 27th of April. Is this a mistake? Because I hear that NSW will not have a long weekend this year since Anzac day falls on a saturday. So are classes still on for the monday?? I couldn't find anything on the usyd website.

Something like this happened to me in my undergrad degree. I was told I'd failed a subject when I was absolutely certain I hadn't. They rechecked my exam paper (which constituted about 60% of the overall mark), and realised they forgot to add on a section. pfft idiots. Perservere, ask questions...

I never use the register to calculate the change for that EXACT reason. I hate using it, I prefer to work it out in my head, keeps me on my toes. I suggest keeping a handy small calculator next to ur register for emergencies like that.

I strongly suggest going for a customer service rep or something similar with Optus. They pay big bucks (~$40,000 in some roles). They are advertising on www.mycareer.com.au. Check them out, and it is full time... but I think u better apply asap as they are looking to recruit people from...

It is kind of behind the main shopping district... which is weird. In one of the office buildings. To walk there from the station would take u around 20 mins.

Haha!! Yeah you will, u'll be picking up clothes off the ground and from the dressing room continously!! And also saying to customers 'hey there, how is ur day today? who are u buying for?' time and time again. Fun times :)

The one where I was placed to work was really bad... the kitchen area was filthy. And there was nowhere to sit down! I'm sure yours will have far better working conditions. Yeah the induction took like 3 hours for me... *yawn* I didn't even have an induction at JB Hi-fi... lol they just took me...

Ah right...There is only one advertised for part time, 20 hours a week... i think it should still be up there unless the position has been filled.

Wear a smart casual outfit, look clean and presentable, and don't worry about being nervous. Everyone gets nervous at interviews... They most likely will ask you questions like 'Why do you want to work at coles? What skills/attributes can you bring to coles?' Just remember that customer service...

Don't worry too much with Cotton On... I lasted a week I suggest to really go for The Body Shop! At least you aren't made to buy their products and wear them. Lol How can they tell ur wearing body butter? I was asked to come in for an interview too but I'm loving my new job now, so nah :P Best...

Definately go for Roger David. Way more upmarket and you'll get a mighty fine discount I'm sure (like at least 30%). Hours will be better and I'm sure work conditions a lil more cruisy than at Woolworths. It'll look more impressive on ur CV!! :)

I'm working as a christmas casual at JB Hi-fi now... way better work conditions. The manager is a champ!! Everyone's heaps friendly and the pay is great. :) I hated Cotton on... bah clothes. I like to buy them not sell them.
